2025 St. Paul's Outside the Walls Community Service Grant

The St. Paul’s Outside the Walls committee is offering grants of up to $250 to parish members who would like to head up a service initiative in the community. These are one-time grants that are open for application as long as funding is available.

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM:

St Paul's Outside the Walls Community Service Grant Program is intended to provide monetary grants to parish members to implement service projects outside of the parish. St Paul the Apostle encourages members to be the hands and feet of Christ in the community. This grant is intended to help parish members follow their passion to be a friend to others in our community. Any parish member is eligible to apply, however, not all may receive funding. Grants awarded will be in maximum amounts of not more than $250. Funding is limited.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

All interested individuals must complete the application form online or by submitting printed applications to the St. Paul the Apostle Parish office.

ELIGIBILITY STANDARDS:

To be eligible to apply for grant monies under the St Paul's Outside the Walls Community Service -Grant Program, applicants must satisfy the following standards:

(1) serve the greater Quad Cities community and;

(2) directly provide the social service(s), educational or cultural program(s) for which grant monies are sought and;

(3) provide services consistent with Catholic social and moral teachings.

"Directly provide" means that the applicant conducts the social service(s) or program(s) itself rather than through a separate entity to which it sub-awards grant monies.

EVALUATION OF APPLCIATIONS:

Once an application is submitted, the St Paul's Outside the Walls Committee will review and consider proposals within 60 days. Applicants may be contacted to attend a Committee meeting to address the Committee, answer questions, clarify their use of funds, etc. Factors to be considered include, but are not limited to, the following:

A. The involvement of parish members in the project.

B. The number people served by the project.

C. The effectiveness of the funds used in helping the project happen.

D. The merit of the need being met by the proposed project.

The Committee’s recommendation will be sent to the parish staff for final approval and issuance of funds. We ask all awardees to provide a few paragraphs for the parish bulletin to share your project with the parish and follow up on how things went.

Questions can be directed to Deacon Ryan Burchett (via e-mail) or phone call (563.271.0608).
